How Does Refrigeration Work?

1. Right when the temperature within the refrigerator goes higher than the set point sensors alert the compressor to start, and then the cool down begins. The appliance draws in the cold liquified refrigerant, pressurizes and condenses it, and increases the temperature, in order to turn it into a gas.

2. The refrigerator compressor unit directs the warm gas towards the condenser coils located on the exterior of the refrigerator, at which point it comes into contact with warmer air temperature in the room and returns back to a liquified form.

3. The cool liquified gas then continues its trip to the refrigerator evaporator component, traveling through the coils within the appliance and top freezer section.

4. The coolant absorbs the heated air from inside the appliance, cooling the temperature back to the optimal set point.

5. The coolant then evaporates, and will turn back to a gas, and returns to the compressor unit so it can then continue the cycle.
